The Red Light District had a common problem for indie theatre companies: the site they started out with was visually in line with their work, but after several years of regular productions they had outgrown its code-only interface and needed a site that would be easier for them to update.

Their productions have an incredibly distinctive aesthetic and their brand across all of their print materials was strong, so I focused on upgrading the backend of the site to something the company members could use. I built the site on WordPress and carried over most of the existing design, though I added a few extra-grungy graphic elements. Shows can be marked as Upcoming or Past with a single click.

In 2015 I redesigned the site to be mobile-friendly, made shows their own custom content type for greater flexibility, and updated the aesthetic to match the company’s minimalist new look.

Linn did a fantastic job revamping our site. She was knowledgeable, flexible, and responded quickly and expertly to all our requests. The resulting site is clean, professional, and exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommended!
